And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:
In Need of a Bailout
An Ohio restaurant recently cited by President Obama as an indirect beneficiary of the government's Chrysler bailout is closing its doors. The president said this, while speaking to auto workers last week:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: This plant indirectly supports hundreds of other jobs right here in Toledo. After all, without you, who'd eat at Chet's, or Inky's or Rudy's?

Well, no one will be eating at Chet's Restaurant after Sunday. The owner cited a bad economy as one of the reasons for shuttering the restaurant.
The origins of Chet's go all the way back to the 1920s.
The Debate Club
Republican presidential candidate Gary Johnson is still miffed about being excluded from CNN's upcoming debate.
Johnson has posted a video online that offers a quick history lesson of past low-polling candidates, one of the reported reasons for his exclusion from Monday's event.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
FORMER GOV. GARY JOHNSON, R-N.M.: I was told that I would never win running for Governor of New Mexico. When they did a poll four months before the primary, I was at two percent of the Republican vote. I went on to win the Republican primary I went on to win the general election by ten percentage points in a state that was two-to-one Democrat.

Violent Lyrics?
And finally, a Mennonite college in Indiana is denying it banned the National Anthem at sporting events, because the lyrics are too violent.
Goshen College says it has asked the school's president to find an alternative to the Star-Spangled Banner that better reflects its core values.
Initially, the school said those core values seem -- quote -- "to be in conflict with the anthem's militaristic language."
Local residents call the decision anti-American and political.
