This is a partial transcript from "Your World with Neil Cavuto," January 11, 2006, that was edited for clarity.

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: Well, if you're not ready for divorce just yet, listen up. This segment, ladies, could be for you. Their trademark says it all, "When Monogamy Becomes Monotony." I kid you not. That is the catchphrase for something called AshleyMadison.com, a site that offers married women a way to meet men.

Darren Morgenstern is the founder of the site. And he joins us from Toronto.

Darren, you know, this sounds just very, very sad.

DARREN MORGENSTERN, FOUNDER, ASHLEYMADISON.COM: I mean, I guess Ashley Madison, in many ways, just really reflects human society and the human condition as well.

CAVUTO: So, you're fostering a site — and, obviously, you get a lot of money off it — that fosters cheating?

MORGENSTERN: We definitely are a platform for like-minded people to meet each other, you know, who potentially won't judge the other and will have a lot in common.

But people who are an affair waiting to happen, they're going to find their way, no matter what. And we feel that we can give them a safe platform, and we can, you know, provide it in an open and honest way.

CAVUTO: Well, how do you do that, Darren? How do you provide a safe platform?

MORGENSTERN: It's a safe platform because you sign up anonymously. You don't have to disclose any details about yourself, unless you are ready to do so, unless you're ready to take it up a notch.

And because, a lot of times, the grass looks greener on the other side, being on Ashley Madison really gives you a chance, or an opportunity, to bail if you have a change of heart at the last minute.

CAVUTO: So, where is all of this going? I mean, for people who want to do just this, how much does is it costing them?

MORGENSTERN: Well, it is costing, at a minimum, $55 to join our site, which really pales in comparison to the cost of the average affair, which can range anywhere from $30,000 to $80,000 a year.

CAVUTO: How do you come up with the average affair costing that much?

MORGENSTERN: Well, when you take into consideration not only, you know, motels and travel and gifts, but you also have to consider things like lost opportunities, lost business, you know, taking your eye off the ball as well.

In a lot of circumstances, the man will, you know, buy gifts for his wife out of guilt or send his wife on vacations to get some alone time.

CAVUTO: But you're fostering something where a secret or a lie, or both, is held, and the other spouse or girlfriend, boyfriend, doesn't even know it.

MORGENSTERN: Well, I mean, there are many vehicles in society that people will use, you know, as tools to further an affair, you know, whether it's a motel room or the Internet.

CAVUTO: I know that. But do you ever just feel guilty doing it? I know you make a ton of money doing it. But do you ever look in the mirror and say, you know what, I'm not a nice guy?

MORGENSTERN: No. We don't feel that at all.

We know our clientele very well. We are very comfortable, in our hearts, that these are people who would cheat anyway. As marketers, we are providing a legitimate service. And people are, you know, rising to that occasion because it is a legitimate service.

CAVUTO: Darren Morgenstern, founder, thank you very much.

MORGENSTERN: Thank you.

CAVUTO: All right.
