The desktop version of Facebook went down Monday - the social network's second outage in less than a week.

“Sorry, something went wrong,” explained a message on the site at 3:22 p.m. ET. “We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can.”

Facebook also suffered a widespread outage Thursday.

Similar to Thursday’s events, Facebook users quickly took to other social media to discuss the outage Monday - #facebookdown was trending on Twitter.

“Might we also suggest using this time to go outside and #FindYourPark!” tweeted @NatlParkService

"We’re currently restoring Facebook services that people had trouble accessing earlier today due to a configuration issue," said a Facebook spokesman, in an email to FoxNews.com. "We’re working to bring things back to normal for everyone. We apologize to those who have been inconvenienced.”
