Q. I'm going to be stuck at home for quite a while and need to make some money. Are there any jobs I can do from home that aren't scams?
A. There are plenty of legitimate work-from-home jobs out there. You can be a search engine evaluator with a company like Leapforce or give your opinions as a focus group member at FocusGroup. Using Windows 10 virtual desktops
Q. I love using Windows 10's virtual desktops to keep my work, games and online browsing separate. But is there a fast way to switch between them using the keyboard? The mouse is so slow.
A. Windows 10 has shortcuts specifically for virtual desktops. Press Ctrl + Windows Key + left/right arrow to jump instantly between desktops. To see what's on every desktop at once, use Windows Key + Tab to open Task View. Use Tab to highlight the desktops area and the arrow keys to move between them. Amazon's same-day delivery
Q. I got a notice from Amazon saying I'm eligible for same-day delivery. How does that work?
A. If you're an Amazon Prime member and you place an order for more than $35 before 12 p.m., Amazon will have it to your door by 9 p.m. the same day. For orders below $35 or if you're a non-Prime member, it will cost you $5.99, or $8.99 plus $.99 per item, respectively. For same-day shipping, that still isn't bad. Q. My little one is always asking to use my iPad, but I'm afraid she's going to mess something up. Is there an app I can run to keep her out of places she shouldn't be?
A. The iPad actually has the feature you want built in. It's called Guided Access and you can find it under Settings>>General>>Accessibility. Turn it on and set the pass code. Then load up an app your daughter wants to use and press the Home button three times. Now she's locked in that app until you enter the pass code. Q. I was using the Amazon app on my phone and saw something about "Amazon Underground" that says it has "actually free" apps? What is this?
A. Amazon has had its own Android app store for a while, but it recently launched a companion app called Amazon Underground. The idea is that instead of you, the consumer, paying for an app or in-app purchases, you get the app completely free and Amazon pays the developer based on the time you use it. Amazon claims to offer more than $10,000 worth of apps for free using this system. How long it's going to last is anyone's guess, but it's a good deal for you.
