A Colorado dog owner accuses another man of killing his pit bull after their dogs scuffled at a park, according to the MyFoxColorado.com.
Animal control officers are investigating the death of 3-year-old Mac, a pooch that Ben Johnson said was a model canine for a breed often associated with its brutality.

Johnson said the incident happened while he was walking Mac at a Broomfield, Colo., dog park when he got into a fight with a Doberman Pinscher. While he and a bystander worked to pull the dogs apart, Johnson said the Doberman's owner pulled a knife and slit Mac's throat twice.
Authorities say the alleged assailant faces animal cruelty charges and the district attorney is slated to make a decision on filing them soon.
