The parents of a newborn girl mistakenly given morphine are suing a Southern California hospital.

Mission Hospital has already been fined $50,000 by California health officials for giving morphine to infant Taylee Blischke instead of her mother, who was being treated for Caesarean section pain after the April 2009 premature birth of triplets. The infant survived and was sent home in good condition.

California investigators say mother and baby had IVs that were mixed up.

Todd and Jessica Blischke, who now live in Seattle, have sued the Mission Viejo hospital on behalf of their daughter. Their lawyer, Michael Brodie, says mediation has been scheduled for Aug. 31 in Santa Ana.
