Garden Valley, Calif. – El Dorado County authorities say an 11-year-old boy has collapsed and died during youth football practice in Northern California.
The boy was participating in practice Monday night at Golden Sierra High School in the unincorporated community of Garden Valley.
He collapsed in full cardiac arrest just before 8 p.m. and was taken to Marshall Medical Center in Placerville, where he was pronounced dead. His name hasn't been released.
The Sheriff's Department's coroner's division is investigating the boy's death.
