This is a rush transcript from "Glenn Beck," May 12, 2010. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
GLENN BECK, HOST: Hello, America. And welcome to the Glenn Beck Program.
I want to start the program today — and by the way, the White House has the phone. I know because I've been talking to some people at the White House. Oops, I said too much. But I know they have the phone number and they can call anytime.
I want to read a quote to you. Really, you're going to want to get the phone number handy guys because today, if I'm wrong, boy, you're going to want to call, because I want to show this — I want to show you this quote. I'm not going to tell you yet what context it was said in or who said it, but I will in just a few minutes.
Here it is: "What if a small group of these world leaders were to conclude that the principal risk to the Earth comes from the actions of the rich countries? In order to save the planet, the group decides: isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?"
Well, that's kind of spooky, isn't it? Yes, I'm going to show you who said that and in what context they said that in — in just a minute. It all kind of relates to — surprisingly — the new global warming and the new climate bill. It's out today. It's great.
Come on. Let's go!
(MUSIC)
BECK: Hello, America.
The earth has a temperature, a boo-boo. But we can sing the praises of the Lord Almighty God because he has sent us his prophets, Brother Kerry and Brother Lieberman, to heal the planet. They introduced a new climate bill today.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The bill has a new name. It's cap-and-trade. No, no, wait, wait. It's not cap-and-trade. I can't get those off my mind.
Don't think of this as a climate bill or cap-and-trade. Don't. No, no. It's America's Power Act.
Oh. Look at the pretty logo they introduced today, too. Come on! Oh, does that bring tears to your — it's just so patriotic.
The press release from these clowns make these things sound like it's a cure for cancer. It's not.
Not only is it going to solve all of America's problems — energy independence, jobs, clean air, blah-di-blah-di-blah-di — it's going to, and I quote, "transform the American economy." Wow! Joe Lieberman said that.
Joe, transform it into what? Spain? No, Spain — Spain's done this. They have 21 percent unemployment. It can't be. It can't be Spain.
Tell me, Joe, transform us into what? Call the White House, they have the number.
If this bill is so great, why did you change the name? Because it's cap-and-trade. OK, climate bill, because we know that's a scam — I mean, cap-and-trade. Oh, jeez, and then somebody went and educated people on what cap-and-trade was. Hmm, crap!
Now it's America Power Act. Huh! This thing has been tried everywhere around the world. It's a complete failure.
Even the progressive wizard, the man behind the curtain of Crime Inc., Joel Rogers, admits cap-and-trade will not help the Earth in any way, shape or form.
Here it is. Watch. His words, not mine.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOEL ROGERS, EMERALD CITIES COLLABORATIVE: I hope you all realize that you can eliminate every power plant in America and you can stop every car in America, take out the entire power generation sector, take out all of the transportation sector, and you still wouldn't be anywhere near 80 percent below 1990 levels. You'd be closer to 60 percent. It would be around 68 percent, and that's bringing the economy to a complete halt basically.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: So, we could all live in tepees and we still won't save the Earth. Wow! That's going to create a lot — we're going to be all — we all have to start making tepees. We all have tepee jobs.
So, it doesn't sound like it's going to save the earth. There's no evidence anywhere this has been tried that it would create jobs. It kills jobs. I think it's two-to-one, kills jobs.
So, there must be something else behind this. Maybe it's going to be a miracle, because Brother Kerry is on a mission from God. Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. JOHN KERRY D-MASS.: If President Bush gets involved, if Harry Reid and all of us pull together, I think this could pass. And the reason it can pass is that we have the broadest base of support. As I said, we have faith-based community support for this bill. We have general and admirals who believe this is a central for American security. We have major business leaders who believe this will create jobs and make us competitive.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: Yes. Yes. Some people — I won't say, I won't. Because I'm an adult and a parent, I won't tell you about Christmas. It just crossed my mind. But I'm — yes, I'm sure there are people that believe this will create jobs.
And the churches are behind this movement, so it must be pure as the driven snow because the churches are. It sounds great. Where do I sign up?
Oh, you know what? I found coalition of faith-based groups. It's great. Let me show you the Web site
It's the Eco-Justice Program, the National Councils of Churches of Christ. And look, it's such a pretty scene with three different churches. Is there a synagogue anywhere or a mosque? There must be some place because they're all — they're all together for eco-justice.
This is fantastic. They launched a climate change leadership training program for Jesus. Where do I donate? I had to click on "donate." Support our work. I had to go there and donate to the National Council of Churches for Eco-Justice.
Now, right here at the bottom of the page — but this is only if you're paying attention — right here, right here, it's great. It says the DemocracyInAction.org group — democracy in action. That sounds patriotic. I had to click to find out what they're about.
So, we clicked on it. There it is. Democracy, wiring the progressive movement. Uh-oh! A 501c3 non-profit organization itself believes technology can be a decisive force for social change. "We exist to empower those who share our values of ecological and social justice to advance the progressive agenda." Wow!
America, if you don't get it yet, you will. This is why the "Huffington Post"/"Washington Post"/Jim Wallis/Obama advisor has been dropping bags of hammers on me for the last few months, smearing me. Why? Because I brought to your attention to the lie of social justice. I told you social justice — as understood by Jim Wallis and those on the progressive left, like Jeremiah Wright, those people understand it as Marxism, redistribution of wealth.
Churches don't like to use those terms. Progressives do. Churches don't. Some churches use it for missionary work. And if Jesus is telling you to volunteer your time or money to do something, that's great.
Social justice — the way it was originally intended? No, no, no. Redistribution of wealth. Know the difference.
I challenge you to find social justice in the Bible. Find the two words. I challenge you to find social justice in any founding document.
Now, I challenge you to find the progressive movement that doesn't use the words "social justice." They use this. They do the same thing. They change the language to control the argument, to fool you into thinking that the climate bill is about climate, that the cap and trade bill is just not damaging. And when you figure it out, they change the name again!
Believe me, social and ecological justice, and all of this bull crap is going to be changed again. It's not the Lord's work. It is man's work for a global government.
Isn't it interest interesting that a global government and governance idea, they are using the churches to do it? So, this climate, cap and — the American Power Act has no Republican support whatsoever. John McCain and Lindsey Graham, who is working on a cap-and-trade bill, now is like whoa!
Why? Because the progressives in the Republican Party are suddenly afraid and backing up because you are waking up. They saw what happened to Bob Bennett in Utah. And the 14-term Democrat in West Virginia? Bye-bye!
People in Washington, you should be terrified. You should. You should be afraid.
But, you know, the people on the left, those who like to hide behind the curtain, they should be afraid of the progressives, because the progressives are not taking their foot off the pedal. They are exposing themselves as the radical, revolutionary country-destroyers that they are. And they realize — holy cow, am I on the right side now? Because only one is going to be standing in the end — our country, or the progressives.
America is on the progressive movement. And this bill would give America a system that would charge for the use of carbon — remember, to save the planet, to create jobs. Remember those two things: save the planet and create jobs.
OK. Let's just say you run a business, you're running General Motors, except you're running it well and you actually have demand on your cars. Now, if you have demand on your cars, you have to start watching now your energy uses because after a certain amount, a cap goes on.
Then you have to buy credits from other car companies or other countries — I bet there's a car company that doesn't exist in Zimbabwe that could plant a tree and sell you their carbon credits. If it hasn't gone over its cap, you have to go out and buy those. So then that way you can have the invisible gas credit. Hmm-mm.
Now, it's not just car companies, it's everything — everything. One of the most affected will be bakers because of all the ovens and everything else.
But don't worry. Don't worry. This is not going to cause a price problem with bread. No. No. You'll be able to get bread.
No, bread will be different. Yes, bread will be different. For some reason, bread will be different.
Remember, the government can print money. Bakers cannot. So their options are — remember, save the planet and create jobs. You're a baker. You have to now pay for carbon credits.
You can pay for them out of the — you know, all the money you make in a bakery. My father was a baker, so I know. We were so rich. We were so rich. Oh, I got to tell you, there is so much money in cakes and doughnuts.
So your options are: Fire people, cut salaries, hire people part-time, get rid of benefits or raise the prices.
Well, which one is the president saying is going to happen? Because he knows.
Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, the electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: So electricity rates are going to skyrocket. So, how does the baker pay for the energy? How does he pay for the extra energy and the cap?
He's got to make more bread to pay for the higher energy price. But he can't, because there is a cap. How is he going to pay for the higher energy and the cap? By creating more jobs? With what? Magic fairy money? With what?
It's going to destroy jobs or — I should say and/or raise the price of bread. Now, how is that helping you? How is that helping you?
Oh, I remember now. That's right. We're going to save the planet. That's how it's helping you. Save the planet! Jesus wants you to save the planet.
Look, here is what I think Jesus wants you to do. I think Jesus wants you to be a responsible citizen and don't litter. Be responsible and don't dump stuff in the rivers. That's what Jesus wants you to do.
We all have to share the Earth and we have to have it go on for future generations. But Jesus doesn't want a cap-and-trade system. Really?
You are asked to sacrifice to save the planet. They'll have you believe that's the point of it. But let me ask you this and please, really, honestly think this through. Do you remember an instance where a politician while in power gave the American people politically insane news like — by the way, I'm going to do something here, just to — I'm going to do it to save something in 1,000 years from now and it's going to make your gas prices skyrocket, it will probably be $10 a gallon gas? Can you think of a politician who's ever done that?
Are we supposed to — are we're supposed to believe now that the politicians suddenly have grown spines? They're going to stand responsible for $10 a gallon gasoline but the same people won't declare war after 9/11. Really? Really? They want to close Gitmo because — really?
They will tell you there's a war to save the planet and you will have to pay $10 a gallon gasoline, but they won't address Social Security collapsing in, what, two years, five years? They're going to make bread and gas and everything else, the price skyrocket, for something coming in 1,000 years. But they don't have the political courage to fix Social Security.
Make sense to you, America? It doesn't.
So, now, let's try to figure out what does make sense. Let's, first of all, remember what we learned in the third grade. Plants need this dangerous invisible gas. OK? The planet. No, that's not going to be anyplace for any kind of farms or anything because it's so bad, CO2 is so bad.
We learned it in the third grade. Let me show you a video here, a video made from CO2science.org. Here it is. This plant over here — time lapse photography — getting 180 percent increase in CO2 levels. That's 30 percent higher than the worst case predictions by the end of the century. This plant, getting the regular, dangerous evil amount. Which one is doing better?
The plant that's getting the "we're all going to die" amount actually seems to like CO2. Gosh, I do think — I do think I remember learning that. Maybe it was in the second grade.
It's not about saving the globe, OK? We also know that they are creating a global governance structure.
Look what they're doing on every other front. Yet the IMF now is setting global standards for Greece and the European Union. We have Obama saying that he is going to put together a financial bill for global structure. IMF has also pushed a global bank tax that would create a fund to prepare for a future crisis. I thought these things would prevent all future crises.
The World Health Organization is now pursuing a global tax on things like Internet usage and transactions, like paying bills online. Bill Clinton is pushing his Clinton Global Initiative. Oh, by the way, who was his — Al Gore was his vice president — that's weird — who also said that the climate bill would bring about global governance. Hmm.
I think you're being scammed. You're being scammed by a group of people I call "Crime Inc." This is the crime — this is the biggest crime because it's planetary-wide. This is the biggest crime in our planet's history.
It's how all of this works. It's the thing that makes sense. Who's going to get rich? Well, we've shown you how the money goes from the Chicago Climate Exchange, how it all got there over the days. If you missed it, go to GlennBeck.com and look for this. We laid it all out.
We've shown you all of it — all the board of directors of the Emerald Cities Collaborative where a lot of the money stops. It's all the usual suspects, all of them, all of them — creating green jobs. Yes, that's right. Creating jobs. Right.
Now, what we haven't shown you is, you know, besides all of the usual suspects of the global, you know, workers of the world unite people and global government people, what we haven't shown you is the board of director of CCX, the Chicago Climate Exchange — which, by the way, the Chicago Climate Exchange just sold to an international company. So, it's global now. OK.
I haven't shown you who is on the board of directors but let me take you back to the words at the top of the show. The top of the show, I showed you these words. It's from a 1990 interview, at the time — can you bring the words up? At the time by the U.N. secretary general for the Earth Summit. He's now one of the directors — board of directors of CCX.
This is what he said: "What if a small group of these word leaders were to conclude that the principal risk to the earth comes from their actions, the actions of rich countries? And in order to save the planet the group decides isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't that it our responsible to bring this all about?"
Now, I want to be very clear here because we talked to the reporter that did this interview in 1990 up in Canada, and I want to be very clear. He was fantasizing about the plot of a novel he was thinking about writing. Yes.
I want to show you the list of novels that Maurice Strong has written before 1990. Here it is. None. None. Again, he's never written a novel.
But — but this is 1990. And he had this great — because that sounds like a great plot, doesn't it? How many has he written since? None. None. Wow! Wow! That's — hmm.
You know what? He's been busy. He's got this great novel idea, but he hasn't had time to do it because he's involved in collapsing the global economies into the hands of a global government. Isn't that interesting? It's almost like his book — hmm. Maybe it's performance art.
This isn't about CO2. It's not about the planet.
You know what this is about? This is about the evil rich people in the world, namely you, because remember, you're the wealthiest 10 percent in the world. I think you might be in the wealthiest one percent in the world
This is about the evil rich countries — in other words, you. That's what this is about.
The guy's name is Maurice strong. It goes without saying he's a socialist. He's also Canadian.
I want to show — they don't necessarily go hand in hand. I know a lot of great Canadians. I want to show you his resume and then I need your help — next.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(MUSIC)
BECK: All right. Before we went to the break I was telling you about Maurice Strong. I want to show you his resume over here.
Now, this is — this is all about the new America Power Act, it's cap-and-trade, climate bill. Here's his picture.
He is currently an advisor to China. He was the godfather of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. He is a key player in the U.N., the World Bank and the Earth Council. He was once on the board of the now defunct Commission on Global Governance. Hmm!
I guess you get a lot of experience to be able to write those, you know, those novels when you do all of those things because you're right there. Anyway, he pushed to get $600 billion sent to the developing world as reparations for a century of industrial development and environmental degradation. Hmm! So, take it from the rich. Got it?
He also was in business with Al Gore while Al Gore was in the Senate. He worked with him on environmental issues. On Earth Day, 1995, vice president then, Al Gore, visits Strong's green technology company and then later he helps steer $33 million in taxpayer money — your money — to the Molten Metal Technology Company, which is interesting because that money was a — government hand-outs was the only source of income for this company.
And when the government started to say, OK, you know, I don't think we're going to pay you anymore. It folded. We stopped sending them money when it was apparent that Molten Metal didn't actually do anything.
Oh, by the way, Strong cashed out his stocks at the peak, just before they made the announcement on a Sunday that the government cheese was drying up. He made $15 million. Everybody else lost money.
He's extremely well-connected. He is very powerful. I mean, he's with World Bank and everybody else. He's not just some guy. This is a big fish we're bringing into the boat.
Now, here's what I need to ask you to do. I want you to, right now — and if you're watching this on TiVo, I'm asking you to stop the show. Stop it. Pause it. And go to the Internet right now.
You find everything you can about this man, OK? I've got — how many — how many researchers do I have on staff? How — Tiffany, how many people do we have on our Fox staff on the show? Ten. Ten.
This stuff is out there. This guy has been saying this stuff for a long time. We need a research team not of ten, but 10,000, 100,000, 500,000. I need you to get on the Internet.
Now, be careful because it can be confusing, the president told us. I need videos and anything you can find on Maurice Strong and you send it to us right away. Please.
I can guarantee you, the reason why this phone is not ringing now is because there are phone calls being made and they are scouring the Internet. They are sanitizing and taking it all off. Find it now before it's gone.
We are talking about people who want to fundamentally transform the world economy and they want to set up a global governance system. We have one of those already, it's called the U.N. and we see how that worked out, you know? Remember all the U.N. scandals — the oil for food, $2 billion meant to help starving Iraqis funneled directly to the pockets of Saddam Hussein.
U.N. peacekeepers preyed on people when they were paid to protect them during decades of widespread abuse in numerous countries. The Congo — the Congo, there was rape, pedophilia, prostitution rings.
Blue helmets, they never work out well. One million people died in Rwanda despite having prior intelligence of the coming slaughter and they did nothing.
I want to make something clear. Right now, tinfoil hat people might be watching going — Glenn Beck is finally on a big global, there is a star chamber. They're not talking about global government. They're talking about global governance.
This is key for you to understand because history points to it over and over again. When Rome transformed they went from a republic to an empire, a global empire. OK? How did they do it? Well, the main thing that happened was they needed a strong man to stop all the chaos.
But then that strong man didn't change the way things looked. He left the illusion of the republic. He left the illusion of the Senate in place. It made people comfortable.
That's why — that's why nothing is really being changed that the average person notices yet. It is about power. It is about power — but not your power. I mean, how do you vote the bums outs at the IMF or the U.N.? Tell me you even knew these guys.
Tell me you knew Maurice Strong. Had you ever heard of him? This guy is really powerful and rich. George Soros we knew. Did you know this guy before we exposed him? How about this guy? Do you know who they are?
I think — one of my producers that shall remain unnamed when we found the stuff that we're on today cried. Could be wrong if you who are unnamed, but I don't think so, because she realized what we're dealing with here and who we're dealing with. It's not good stuff.
They'll leave the illusions in place until the "E" word arrives — an emergency. An emergency. Gosh, there's no emergency that can happen, huh? Like 20 percent unemployment, dollar collapsing, Greece and all of Europe on fire and chaos?
What happens when the emergency arrives? Germany is bailing them out now. And now, the IMF is saying to Greece what they can and cannot do. Where is their freedom?
They are being told now who they can hire and fire. They'll look over all the budgets. Excuse me? That is the perfect socialist union.
How is it working out for you now, Greece?
The American power act has nothing to do with American power, unless it means redistribution of America's power from the American people to the global elite. Find out all you can. Maurice Strong, send it now.
Back in a minute.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(NEWS BREAK)
BECK: All right. Thanks for the update. Now, let's take a look at our weather forecast. Looks like we have some scattered showers of journalism breaking out here in the south. Big thunder boomers down there. And this is following a serious truth drought out in the west that's been brought in by socialist high-pressure system.
We're starting to see now some late-breaking showers over at the New York Times. Oh, they are a little late but, hey, better late than never, huh? All the mighty paper of record is on the case now.
This is the headlines from the Times this morning, "In Greek crisis, some will see parallels to U.S. debt woes." You think? Really?
Let me quote a couple of paragraphs here from the Times' new revelation, "It's easy to look at the protesters and the politicians in Greece and in other European countries with huge debt and wonder why they don't get it. They've been enjoying more generous government benefits than they can afford. No mass rally and no bailout fund will change that. Only benefit cuts — only benefit cuts or tax increases. Yet, in the back of your mind comes a nagging question. How different really is the United States?"
Don't get me wrong. I said it was scattered journalistic showers. It's not a downpour. As I mentioned, you know, widely scattered showers expected to clear up by tomorrow morning's edition. Don't worry about it.
The clearing began actually later in the same article. "The United States," it says, "will probably not face the same kind of crisis as Greece for all sorts of reason." They never named one. I like the one, "It's America. It will never happen here." That's a really — I like that one.
The laws of physics and economic physics just all break down at our shores. "But the basic problem is the same for both countries have a bigger government than they are paying for. And politicians, spendthrifts as some may be, are not the main source of the problem."
No, no, no. Here comes the kicker. Who is the problem? Wait for it. You are. Yes, yes. By "we" they mean "you." You are the problem. Not the politicians in Washington. No, no, no. You.
Why? Oh, this is the best part. Here it is, "We have not figured out what kind of government we want. We're in favor of Medicare, Social Security, good schools, wide highways, strong military and low taxes."
You see, you just want it all. You don't want to pay for any of it. You selfish pig. But wait, there's more, "Many people..." here it comes, "Many people, including some who claim to be outraged by the deficit," claim to be outraged, not really outraged, "still haven't acknowledged the disconnect."
"Last weekend, tea party members helped deny Sen. Bob Bennett, the Utah Republican, his party's nomination for his re-election campaign in part because he had co-sponsored a health reform plan with Democratic senators. Economists generally think that the plan" — you ready — "would have done more to reduce Medicare spending than the bill that passed. Whatever his intentions, the Tea Party effectively punished Mr. Bennett for not being a big enough fan of big government."
That is so wrong, the New York Times — how do you, guys, tie your shoes in the morning? Bob Bennett was punished because Utahans knew that no healthcare plan was preferable to the structure that was being proposed by Bennett. None. None.
We don't want any more plans from the government. We want less plans from the government. We also, no doubt, are sick and tired of Bennett voting for things like TARP. Or approving Ruth Bader Ginsburg or most recently, Cass Sunstein.
Bennett prided himself with working with Democrats, you know, something that in this day and age of progressivism has — some have come to see that as compromising principles.
And again, let me give the hot news flash to the New York Times. Bob Bennett and anyone else living under the illusion of a true Democratic Party — what are you smoking? The Democrats don't exist anymore. They were eaten by the progressives — the labor unions, the communists, the radicals, the globalists, George Soros — yes.
The progressives are the Democratic Party now. So if you want to vote for a Democrat, you vote for the Republicans. If you want to vote for a socialist or globalist or a revolutionary, you vote for the Democrats. If you don't want to vote for either...
So the New York Times — to place blame squarely on your shoulders is interesting. Rather than placing on politicians in D.C. who got us into this mess claiming that we haven't figured out what kind of government we want. Yes. It shows me that the New York Times still doesn't get it.
We decided what kind of government we wanted a long, long time ago. We want the kind of government our founding fathers gave us. And you know what's interesting — until they started changing the history books and indoctrinating us, you know, through the media, all of that progressive nonsense, we were much more clear on that.
And yet, you still haven't been able to kill that in us. It's amazing. See, what we wanted a Democratic republic, one based on limited government with equal justice for all.
New York Times, we are not the problem. Big government and those in bed doing the big government bidding is the problem. More on that coming up.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
BECK: The New York Times sees financial trouble finally on the horizon. They just haven't been able to pinpoint the real problem until today. They announce on the front page that the real problem is you. You just want big bloated government, but you just won't pay the taxes necessary to provide it.
There is another choice — small government. There are people saying that. You just have to listen to them and talk to them, New York Times. The Obama administration is following the European model — European model. You just keep increasing the size of government. And when it doesn't work out, just transform it.
And then the people will either swing towards communism on the European left or fascism on the European right. This is where America was put in 1791. This is real left and right. Anarchy on this end. Total government on this end.
America has moved over the years towards total government. Nothing can happen to you over here. The government is just big enough to protect you from the bad guys on each end.
When it's total government, you might have a sweetheart. Jesus might come and be our president. But when Jesus dies and goes back up into heaven, who replaces him?
European left, Stalin and Mao. The European right, Hitler and Mussolini. OK. Greece — they just kept spending and spending and spending and spending. In fact, even in the face of the catastrophe in Greece over the weekend, President Obama called Germany's Angela Merkel to convince her to spend even more money than she planned for Greek bailout.
It was Barack Obama who called her up and said it's got to be bigger. Think big! Now, it's $1 trillion. He wanted more than $1 trillion. We showed you last night that the markets are betting against this Greece bailout work.
And some of the people that got the money are now betting against Greece being able to pay it back. The default swap market rose after the trillion-dollar bailout was announced, meaning those with money, money on the line, even with a trillion-dollar bailout infusion, they say it's going to default.
They are going to get paid twice. Now, we've seen that the terrible unrest is already happening in Greece, OK? Now, the instability is spreading to Germany, as Germany digs even deeper into the Greece bail — out.
As a result, the rising tide of anger and resentment is sweeping across Germany now. The German newspaper, "Bild," ran this story today, "We are the schmucks of Europe again."
Gee, when was the last time the German felt like schmucks? Oh, that's right. That's right. I remember now — right before World War II.
Why did they feel like schmucks? Could it have anything to do that America forced a treaty on them with France and England after World War I? Then demanded — the U.S. president demanded with Woodrow Wilson along with England and France that they pay all kinds of reparations that they could never afford. They had to inflate their money.
Now, another president is pressuring them to open up their wallets, pour hundreds of billions of dollars or $1 trillion or so in total bailout money. You've already been seeing the rise of communist and anarchists in Greece. That's what who is on the screen — communists and anarchists. Communists and anarchists.
Now, who is going to show up in Germany? My guess — Gang, I told you last summer, we are about to make the same mistakes. We're about to see the same mistakes made 80 years ago in Germany, made all over. All over again. I'll show you how it plays out this time, next.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
BECK: I've been telling you now for a while that we are seeing the rise of the communist and the anarchists in Greece. But now, we're about to see what I told you was coming.
We are going to see the rise of the European right in Germany now. That's where it's starting. The question for Europe will once again be: Do we have fascists or communists that quell all the problems?
The last two times all hell broke loose on planet earth, America was there. We had the will. We had the power and we had the financial ability to be able to step between those two factions.
But there comes a point now and I believe it's approaching quickly that we will not be able to do that anymore. We don't even have the moral authority to do that anymore, let alone the money to do that.
So who steps in between Hitler and Stalin? Who steps in? One country on planet earth that can and it is China. China. The world has put a happy face on communist China.
You will never read about the totalitarian oppression in China or the 37 million Chinese who suffer in abject poverty, and that's their number. Not probably a real number. That is their number.
Hey, how about that whole one child limit thing? As long as they can continue to exploit their population of over a billion people who can sew clothes or put together Chia pets for eight cents a day, there is no way to fight them. No way. They will control the world.
So who steps in? If Europe breaks down, who steps in? China does. China will control the direction of Europe and rest of the world in the next century, not the United States of America, not our principles and freedom and liberty and free market. No, no, no. Communist China.
Well, maybe we'll finally be able to bring social and economic justice to the people of Europe just as they've done for those 37 million of their own citizens. Back in a second.

BECK: Never mistake the truth for anger or hatred. And when people become uncomfortable and when things go dicey and people become afraid, they start to go back to hatred because sometimes, hatred makes people comfortable.
That's why this program has been urging you and we have been working hard on doing faith, hope and charity, the positive into your life.
So when people do freak out, they don't go to the extremes. They know what the truth is and they know how to fix it. We can fix it together.
Good night, from New York.
