OCALA, Fla. – Ocala police say they arrested a wanted U.S. military deserter after he brought his battered child to a hospital.
Ryan Lee Hunt was allegedly ordered to ship off with the U.S. Navy in December, but went home to visit his newborn and never returned.
Doctors found the child with a fractured hip and three broken ribs. Hunt's girlfriend said he hurt the child and repeatedly battered her as recently as Friday.
The officer noted finger marks and bruises on the woman's chest, neck and arms.
Hunt remained without bail Wednesday in Marion County jail on domestic battery and aggravated child abuse charges.
