Authorities in New Jersey have charged a man with kidnapping in the case of a 20-month-old child left abandoned at a gas station in Delaware.

Dwayne Jackson of Edison also was charged Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. He was being held in lieu of $750,000 bail.

The child was found Sunday in Newark, Del., and was identified as Jackson's daughter after the toddler's photo was distributed.

Meanwhile, police in Monsey, N.Y., have said a woman whose burned body was found in a park is connected to the case. They did not say if she was the baby's mother.
