A New Jersey father pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges stemming from the disappearance of his 3-month-old daughter.

Officials say Shamsiddi Abdur-Raheem told them he had thrown the child off a Garden State Parkway bridge on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old appeared composed during his video arraignment in Newark to kidnapping, attempted murder, aggravated assault and child endangerment charges.

There was no reaction from the child's mother, who watched in court.

Teams with boats, dogs and helicopters have found no sign of Zara Malani-lin Abdur in their third day of searching under the Driscoll Bridge.

State Police Sgt. Julian Castellanos says the mission is still a rescue attempt even though the odds of a baby surviving this long are slim.
