Employee Shot at Memphis Hospital

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis police say an employee of the Delta Medical Center has been shot and wounded at the hospital.

Police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said a woman was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center with an apparent gunshot would after police received a call about a shooting at 8:50 a.m. Friday.

Rudolph said the victim was in extremely critical condition and police have a possible suspect in custody.

Delta Medical Center's Web site describes the facility as a specialty-referral hospital which offers acute medical care and behavioral health medicine.
