A composite sketch of a man who witnesses say walked away from the front of a Miami nightclub with a murdered former Playboy model has been released, Lt. Neal Cuevas of the North Miami Police Department told Fox News.
The man was allegedly seen leaving Club Space nightclub with Paula Sladewski, a former Playboy model, on Jan. 3, the same day her body was found burned beyond recognition in a Miami Dumpster.
SLIDESHOW: Playboy model murder investigation.
New accounts from witnesses who were outside and around the club the night Sladewski disappeared provided police the information they needed to draw up a sketch of the man, now sought by police, who may have been the last to see the 26-year-old Sladewski alive.
The man was described by witnesses as a stocky, six-foot-tall, light-skinned black man, Cuevas told FoxNews.com.
Police are also processing and looking into several cars that might be related to the homicide. Cuevas said he could not provide further information about the vehicle investigation.
Sladewski, who resided in California, was partying at Club Space with her boyfriend, Kevin Klym.
Klym, 34, has since become a target of suspicion — partly because another ex-boyfriend of the deceased claimed Sladewski had been sending him text messages during the time she was dating Klym saying he was "trying to kill" her.
But Klym told police that he and Sladewski got into a verbal altercation at the club, and said that bouncers escorted him out and would not let him back inside, said Cuevas. He said Sladewski didn’t want to leave and stayed at the club, according to Cuevas.
Though police were able to confirm Klym’s account of taking a taxi back to his Miami hotel from the club, he is still considered a person of interest, Cuevas told FoxNews.com on Tuesday.
There are "still some things that need to be cleared up concerning his statement to police," Cuevas said. "Once that is done, they might change that classification."
Video surveillance captured Sladewski leaving the Miami club at 7:21 a.m. on Jan. 3. — approximately 14 hours before her body was found. Sladewski is seen in the video being escorted out of the club by two bouncers.
Sladewski's body was found 10 to 12 miles away from the nightclub in a residential area, Cuevas told Fox News.
Police are waiting for the state crime lab's report to identify what substance was used to ignite the Dumpster blaze.
Sladewski's body was so severely burned that the medical examiner's office was unable to determine the exact cause of death, Cuevas told FoxNews.com.
Klym, who has returned to his home in California, remains a person of interest in the case since he was the last known person to be seen with her, Cuevas said. He does not expect Klym to be a person of interest for much longer.
America's Most Wanted has been in Miami to tape a segment for its series. Police hope the show will help draw attention to the case and inspire people with any information to contact them.
The North Miami Police Department asks anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477. Crime Stoppers has offered up a $15,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
