A 19-year-old Mexican college student says he dug himself out of a shallow grave after six assailants beat him and buried him alive in northeastern Mexico.

Coahuila State Attorney's Office spokesman Everardo Rosales says investigators are looking for four men and two women for the alleged attack.

Nursing student Juan Manuel Encino says the attack happened after a girl he knew invited him to a party in Saltillo, then lured him into a cemetery supposedly to talk about forming a rock band.

In an interview published Tuesday in the newspaper Vanguardia, Encino says they beat him, then he played dead to avoid further injuries. He says he later crawled out of the shallow grave. A cemetery guard found him Monday morning.
