The stepbrother of a former police officer accused of killing his third wife has testified that he believes he might have helped his sibling dispose of his fourth spouse's body after he strongly hinted he intended to kill her.

Thomas Morphey told a hushed courtroom Thursday that Drew Peterson suggested he would kill Stacy because she planned to divorce him.

Morphey said that the next day he helped Peterson to move a large blue barrel that was warm to the touch.

Morphey was testifying at a hearing to decide whether prosecutors can use "hearsay" evidence to try and prove allegations that Peterson killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004.

Peterson hasn't been charged in Stacy's 2007 disappearance. He has pleaded not guilty in Savio's death.
