A 30-year-old Dallas police officer has been fired after an internal investigation revealed he sent nude photos of himself to a high school student.

Police Chief David Kunkle on Thursday fired Officer Bryan Crews. The officer's attorney says Crews will appeal and criticized the investigation.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the internal investigation started after Crews' wife gave authorities several items including his personal cell phone memory card. Crews' attorney says she handed police those items during divorce proceedings.

The investigation found Crews sent nude photos to a 17-year-old high school student, had many conversations with her and exchanged text messages. The details of their relationship was not clear.
