BARBERTON, Ohio – The FBI has joined Ohio authorities on a manhunt for the suspect in a violent bank robbery, in which the suspect reportedly spraying customers and employees with mace, Fox8.com reported.
An armed gunman entered the KeyBank on Wooster Road in Barberton, Ohio, scaring customers at 9:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, the FBI told Fox8.com.
"He was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, started waving it, announced a robbery, went up to two bank tellers, pointing the gun at them, demanded money, they gave him money, he demanded money a second time," FBI Special Agent Scott Wilson told Fox8.com.
Surveillance photos released by the FBI show a man in a black, hooded sweatshirt pointing a gun at bank employees. The footage from the bank security cameras also shows a teller with her hands in the air and money spread across the counter, the site reported.
"And then all of a sudden, he pulled a mace canister out of a bag and started spraying the bank with mace," Wilson told Fox8.com.
A customer and employee were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries caused by the mace attack, and have since been released, Wilson said.
"Unprovoked, unprovoked...and so we're very concerned that he caused injuries in this bank, so we do have a reward in this arrest," Wilson told Fox8.com.
