139 Chinese Miners Trapped After Explosion

Chinese state media say an explosion at a coal mine in northern China has trapped 139 miners.

The official Xinhua News Agency says Saturday morning's explosion occurred at a mine in Heilongjiang province in northeast China. The report cites the province's coal mine safety authorities.

Xinhua says the mine has confirmed that another 389 miners managed to escape after the 2:30 a.m. gas explosion.
