A dog in England has proven he's not only man's best friend, but he's the winner of an environmental award for his recycling efforts, the Telegraph reported.
Sonny, a 9-year-old Springer Spaniel, was recognized as a volunteer who has helped keep his neighborhood clean, the paper reported.
Sonny has reportedly been collecting neighborhood trash since he was a puppy. His owners taught him to recycle — showing him how to dump the trash he's collected into recycling bins at his house, the paper reported.
It is believed that Sonny has collected and recycled hundreds of plastic bottles, cans and wrappers that have littered the streets of his town in Scunthorpe, Lincs.
Sonny, whose owners accompanied him to the awards ceremony, received a bag of plastic toys and treats, along with an engraved picture frame, the paper reported.
