NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Three South Florida teens are dead after the car they were driving crashed into a canal.
Coral Spring police say 16-year-old Sea Maxey was driving a 2007 red Volkswagen early Sunday when he struck another vehicle and then drove in reverse, backing up and running over a street sign.
The vehicle then hit a guardrail and turned over into the canal.
One passenger, 15-year-old Evan Sinisgalli, escaped from the vehicle and survived.
The driver and two other teenagers, both 16, were killed.
