State and federal probation officers in Huntsville, Alabama, have scheduled a mandatory meeting for felony sex offenders on Halloween to ensure they won't participate in holiday events.

The Huntsville Times reported Friday that the educational program will review sex offenders laws on both a state and national level.

According to a statement from the U.S. Probation Office in Huntsville, it is meant to encourage accountability and behavior changes in the participants.

The program is being held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in an undisclosed location on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Felony sex offenders under supervision of the state office or the federal probation office in Huntsville are required to attend.
