A Texas teacher is accused of stealing her students' lunch money after the school's principal reported missing funds.

Authorities charged Angela M. Strube, 30, with theft for pocketing her third grade students' money, the Murfreesboro Post reported.

Police spokesman Kyle Evans says Strube admitted to taking the cash, "just to pocket the money."

"Anytime you have an authority figure you trust stealing from the most vulnerable is a sad situation," Evans told the Murfreesboro Post.

A school spokeswoman said Strube was suspended without pay. She is scheduled to answer the charge Nov. 30.
