Police say a workman clearing brush near a British highway found a bag of human bones.

Avon and Somerset Police say the bones were discovered Monday off England's M5 highway, north of Bristol. The age and sex of the body remain unclear.

Detective Inspector Richard Budd said Tuesday a skull and pelvis bone were recovered but that it was unclear how many bones were at the site. Some of the bones had been partially buried, and animals had been among the remains.
