DEVELOPING: A small private plane crashed just after takeoff in California Wednesday, bursting into flames, KTVU reported.

There were no initial reports of injuries or fatalities in the accident.

The twin-engine Beechcraft King Air went down in a field about 12:30 p.m., minutes after lifting off at Hayward Executive Airport in northern California, according to the station. It skidded onto some railroad tracks and ignited a small grass fire that was extinguished by rescue crews at the scene.

There was only one person reportedly aboard the aircraft, KTVU said.
