DETROIT – Students at a charter high school in Detroit were evacuated Friday after a bomb threat was reportedly phoned in and an unattended bookbag was found on the premises.
The scare happened Friday morning at the Life Skills Center of Metropolitan Detroit, a charter school for grades 9 to 12, according to MyFOXDetroit.com.
Police arrived on the scene and found the bag, which belonged to a student who wasn't in school Friday, the station said.
Authorities classified the bag as suspicious, and classes were let out for the day. Roads in the area also were closed.
