The mother of a Delaware optometrist who fled to Central America in a motor home with his three young daughters has pleaded guilty to endangering the girls' welfare.

Lenore Matusiewicz, 64, told Superior Court Judge M. Jane Brady on Thursday that she was sorry and she'd like to get on with her with her life. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to pay for family counseling and is banned from contact with the girls or their mother.

Matusiewicz' 42-year-old son, David, will be sentenced Dec. 10 after pleading guilty last week to parental kidnapping and bank fraud.

David Matusiewicz traveled in an $80,000 motor home his mom had recently purchased to Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, where federal agents found him in March.
