A Maine couple will be married in Philadelphia next weekend in a Star Trek-themed wedding — complete with a contingent of Starfleet officers when they trade vows.
Brad Siegel of Lyman and his fiancee, Kate Erwin, will be married Sept. 13 at Philadelphia's Franklin Institute, not far from Erwin's hometown of Phoenixville, Pa.
The Portland Press Herald says the ceremony will be held on a replica of the Starship Enterprise bridge, which is part of a traveling exhibition.
The couple, who moved to Maine in December, wanted to marry at a "Star Trek" replica in Las Vegas. But while they were making wedding plans, the attraction was demolished.
Then they learned that the Franklin Institute was holding a contest to let one couple have their wedding in the exhibit.
