SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane County authorities say a 33-year-old pregnant woman is dead and her boyfriend has been detained in the investigation of the homicide.
Sgt. Dave Reagan says officers found the woman's body in a Spokane Valley home while responding Saturday night to a report of a possible assault there.
He says the woman's 19-year-old boyfriend was taken into custody after a neighbor found him hiding in a boat near the woman's home. He says police had been looking for him after they found a trail of blood leading out of the home.
The names of the woman and the boyfriend have not been released. The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy on the woman to determine a cause of death.
