Virginia police arrested a man suspected of setting a woman on fire during an argument while he was riding in her car, MyFOXDC reported.

Culpeper County deputies received a domestic assault call on Aug. 10 in Brandy Station, Va. When they arrived they found a 37-year-old woman being treated by fire personnel for burns to her head and neck.

The unidentified victim said she was driving with her 12-year-old daughter in the back seat and 45-year-old James Edward Anderson in the front seat when he assaulted her.

During an argument Anderson allegedly sprayed her with a flammable liquid, and when she pulled over and tried to get out of the car he threw a lit match at her, lighting her on fire.

The victim's daughter was able to run from the car before Anderson fled the scene in it. The driver was taken to the hospital and treated for her burns.

Anderson was arrested Tuesday but has yet to be charged.
