The military has identified the pilot of an F-16 who was killed in a crash at the Utah Test and Training Range in the state's west desert.

The 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base says Capt. George B. Houghton was killed when his F-16 crashed Monday night on a training mission. He was assigned to the 421st Fighter Squadron.

The crash site was about 35 miles south of Wendover near the Utah-Nevada state line.

Houghton's age and hometown were not released and the cause of the crash hasn't been determined.
