A Pennsylvania Army National Guardsman deployed in Iraq has coached his wife through the birth of their first daughter by using a Web cam.

Twenty-five-year-old Sgt. Justin Allenbaugh is serving his second tour in Iraq. He and his wife, Roxanne, of Monroeville, learned over the Christmas holiday that she would be pregnant. Knowing he wouldn't be there for the birth, Allenbaugh arranged for a Web cam at West Penn Hospital-Forbes Regional Campus.

Roxanne Allenbaugh says the couple have used the Web cam to stay in touch while he's in Iraq, so they though it would be a good way for him to participate in Monday's birth.

The couple named their daughter Gemma Rose.

Allenbaugh is expected to return from Iraq in September.
