A Boston University medical student accused of killing a 25-year-old masseuse he met through Craigslist is due back in court for a pretrial hearing.

Philip Markoff is scheduled to appear in Boston Municipal Court Thursday in the April 14 fatal shooting of Julissa Brisman, of New York City, and the armed robbery of another woman four days earlier.

Authorities say he met both women at posh Boston hotels after answering their ads in the "erotic services" category on Craigslist.

The 23-year-old Markoff has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He also is charged in an arrest warrant in the attempted robbery of a third woman in Rhode Island on April 16.

Police say she was held at gunpoint at a Warwick hotel, but her assailant fled when her husband came into the room.
