April 19: When asked by pageant judge Perez Hilton whether she believed in gay marriage, Prejean replied, "I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what? I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."
April 19: In a video blog posted on his Web site, Hilton, who is gay, blasted Prejean as a "dumb bitch" and called her answer the "worst" in pageant history. "She gave an awful, awful answer that alienated so many people," Hilton said.
April 20: Beginning with Miss California Co-Chairwoman Shanna Moakler, celebrities begin Twittering and posting online messages criticizing Prejean. In a message to Hilton, Moakler tweeted, "you were well spoken and made clear precise points that I stand behind. well done, and thank you."
April 21: E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic twitters, "I know i'm a journalist, and i should be objective ... but she is an ignorant disgrace and she makes me sick to my stomach."
April 21: FunnyorDie.com releases a celebrity-laden Web video spoofing America's so-called fear of the "gay marriage storm," including appearances by Alicia Silverstone, Lance Bass and George Takei. The video parodied "The Gathering Storm" ad made by the National Organization for Marriage, which opposes gay marriage.
April 26: Prejean tells reporters that officials from the Miss California USA pageant urged her to apologize but that she rejected the advice.
April 29: Moakler confirms reports that Miss California officials paid for Prejean's breast implants.
April 30: During an appearance on MSNBC, Village Voice columnist Michael Musto says that Miss California officials also paid for Prejean to "cut off her penis" and likens her to Klaus Barbie, a Nazi war criminal believed to be responsible for up to 4,000 deaths.
May 4: A topless photograph of Prejean in pink underwear appears on TheDirty.com.
May 6: TMZ.com reports it received four graphic photographs of Prejean from a source close to the beauty queen. The site decides not to run them since Prejean was reportedly just 17 at the time.
May 8: Reports surface that Miss California co-chairmen Keith Lewis and Moakler arranged for a slew of beauty queens, including reigning Miss Teen USA Chelsea Gilligan, to appear in a public service announcement entitled "I Believe … The Beauty of California." Prejean was notably absent, FOXNews.com's Pop Tarts reports.
May 12: Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, to hold a press conference regarding Prejean.
