A police officer shot a suspect during an altercation in a Brooklyn subway station according to preliminary reports, MyFOXNY reported.

Dozens of officers responded to the scene after the Thursday afternoon incident.

Due to the police investigation, two subway trains were bypassing the station in both directions, Manhattan's Transportation Authority.

The person who was shot suffered non-life-threatening wounds, authorities said.

According to unconfirmed reports, another person may have been shot, too.
