Fla. Deputies Capture Two Fugitives, Suspected of Murder After the Breakout

Authorities in Florida have caught two men who escaped from a jail there and are suspected of killing a 66-year-old woman after the breakout.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says Doni Ray Brown and Timothy Wayne Fletcher were caught Saturday in Pomona Park in the northern part of the state.

Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Johnny Greenwood says two deputies tackled the men during a foot chase after receiving a tip that they were in the area.

A nationwide alert had been put out for the two men, and authorities said they were considered suspects in the slaying. Greenwood said Saturday they faced an escape charge but hadn't been charged with any further counts.

Authorities say the men fled the jail early Wednesday. It wasn't clear how they escaped.
