Amusement Ride Topples Over on Young Children in Washington, 1 Hospitalized

PUYALLUP, Wash. – A spokeswoman for the Puyallup, Wash., Spring Fair says an amusement swing ride for small children has toppled over at the fairgrounds and one child has been sent to a hospital to be checked.

Spokeswoman Karen LaFlamme tells KING5 News that another 10-12 children are being attended to by medics at the fairgrounds after the Friday evening mishap.

Witness Shelly Cumming says her son was aboard the ride when it fell over but is OK. In her words, "It just all of a sudden toppled over."

There was no immediate word on the cause of the accident.
