Two people have been killed on a Michigan college campus in what police believe was a murder-suicide.
An unidentified man killed a woman and then himself at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, police told FOX affiliate WJBK in Detroit.
Reports of a gunman on campus forced a campus lockdown, which has since been lifted.
A state trooper said the situation is "secure," local WWJ Radio reported.
Students described mayhem after hearing gunfire.
"They kind of said it was a little bit of pandemonium and shock at first," Matt Laurinec, an editor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus newspaper, told WWJ.
"Students said they heard it — heard about one or two shots at first — (and) came out into the hallways," he added. "That's when the scattered panic began to start."
Deputy Police Chief Gregg Brighton said the college was locked down in the early afternoon Friday shortly after a 911 caller reported the gunfire.
Responding officers set up a perimeter around the fine arts building and heard a gunshot as they entered.
Police discovered the bodies of a man and a woman in a room. He says he didn't think it was being used at the time, according to Brighton.
Brighton said a shotgun was used in the killings.
