Alabama construction workers grading the land at a city lot unearthed a mass grave Tuesday morning in Montgomery, WSFA.com reported.

The remains are likely victims of a yellow fever outbreak that hit the city in the early 1800's, Montgomery Police spokesman Maj. Huey Thornton told WSFA.com. So far, eight bodies have been found.

Health officials were on the scene but they do not believe there is any cause for concern, according to WSFA.com.

The lot is located next to the Oakwood Cemetery.
