Two brothers were killed when their car collided with a school bus in northeast Kansas Tuesday, the Topeka Capital-Journal reports.

A woman driving the bus was in critical condition and transported from Rossville by helicopter to an area hospital, the newspaper reported on its Web site.

Three children, 5, 10 and 11, were on the bus when the collision happened at about 3:30 p.m. Officials said their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The brothers, ages 31 and 35, died at the scene from unspecified injuries, police told the newspaper. They were reportedly not wearing their seat belts.

Rossville is about 15 miles northwest of Topeka. The crash closed the highway while emergency crews responded to the accident.
