Three Delaware schools are on lockdown after students received text messages warning that there would be a shooting.

State police say students in central Delaware's Sussex County got text messages saying a student would be shot between 8 a.m. and noon Friday.

There have been no reports of shots fired.

Police say the schools targeted in the messages were Seaford Senior High School, Seaford Middle School in Seaford and Woodbridge Senior High School in Bridgeville.

State Police spokesman Sgt. Joshua Bushweller says eight troopers are keeping students contained at the Seaford schools, and three troopers are keeping an eye on the Bridgeville school.
