Before giving birth to octuplets and becoming a mom of 14 — when she was a single mother of just six — Nadya Suleman was reportedly already a name that many Los Angeles cops and child welfare officers knew.
On July 7, 2008, a neighbor called the Department of Children and Family Services claiming that Suleman’s six kids looked both dirty and hungry, gossip Web site TMZ reported.
Workers went to the home, completed a full report and decided the allegation was ‘unfounded,’ according to TMZ.
That wasn’t the only time officers have reportedly been called to the child-filled house.
The Los Angeles Police Department was called there a total of eight times for charges ranging from an open front door and a child locked in a room to the most recent disturbance — a neighbor brandishing a gun, according to TMZ.
Suleman, who has gained notoriety for having eight more babies via artificial insemination, has said she wanted a houseful of children because she felt isolated when she was growing up.
