Everyone can relax — Etta James doesn’t really want to whoop Beyonce’s you-know-what.

The 71-year-old singer says she was only kidding around when she said she “cant stand” Beyonce and that Barack Obama was not her president.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, she said, “I didn’t really mean anything. Even as a little child, I’ve always had that comedian kind of attitude. … That’s probably what went into it.”

Still, James admitted that she felt left out when Beyonce, who portrayed her in the film Cadillac Records, sang James’ classic At Last for the president and first lady’s first dance at an inauguration ball.

James said she was “feeling left out of something that was basically mine, that I had done every time you look around.”

And while she said she liked Beyonce’s performance, she still thinks she could have done a better job.

And as for President Obama, James said she meant no harm when she said he had big ears.

“I always thought he was handsome and he was cool,” she said.
