Federal prosecutors have filed charges against a third man in a wide-ranging probe of corruption at a northeastern Pennsylvania courthouse.

Luzerne County Court Administrator William Sharkey Sr. was charged Tuesday with embezzling more than $70,000 in seized gambling proceeds between 1998 and 2008.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Sharkey intends to plead guilty. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Last week, two Luzerne County judges were charged in a $2.6 million kickback scheme to place juvenile offenders in private detention facilities.
