Body of Florida Man Found in River Near Courthouse

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The body of a South Florida man who jumped in a river near the Broward County courthouse after his bond was revoked has been found.

Broward Sheriff's authorities say 29-year-old John Ross fled the courtroom and jumped into the New River on Friday morning. Ross was in court for an aggravated battery with a firearm charge and broke away after a judge remanded him to custody.

Three deputies jumped in the water after him. Authorities pulled his body from the water later Friday and transported him to the medical examiner's office.
