Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Both Get Lead Actor Oscar Nods

The Pitt-Jolie household was probably a madhouse this morning.

Both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were nominated in their respective Lead Actor categories during the 81st Academy Awards nomination ceremony, held early Thursday morning in Los Angeles.

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" led the way with 13 nominations, including Best Actor (Brad Pitt), Best Supporting Actress (Taraji P. Henson) and Best Director (David Fincher).

Angelina Jolie was nominated for Best Actress for her work in "Changeling," along with Anne Hathaway for "Rachel Getting Married," Melissa Leo for "Frozen River," Meryl Streep for "Doubt," and Kate Winslet for "The Reader."

Heath Ledger earned a supporting actor nomination on the one-year anniversary of his death for his last completed role as the Joker in "The Dark Knight."

Other supporting-actor nominees were Josh Brolin in "Milk," Robert Downey Jr. in "Tropic Thunder," Philip Seymour Hoffman in "Doubt," and Michael Shannon, "Revolutionary Road."

The supporting actress nominees were Amy Adams for "Doubt," Penelope Cruz for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," Viola Davis for "Doubt," Taraji P. Henson for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and Marisa Tomei for "The Wrestler."

Hosted by Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker, nominations for 10 of the 24 award categories were announced live from Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.

The Oscar winners will be announced February 22.
