An Amtrak train leaving Chicago's Union Station has partially derailed halting several lines of commuter rail service for rush hour train passengers.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Maglieri says there are no injuries.

He said two sets of wheels on a train headed for Los Angeles came off the tracks as the train was departing around 3:15 p.m. The train was traveling at a slow speed.

Maglieri said 116 Amtrak passengers will be rerouted to other transportation and other Amtrak trains will be effected. He didn't immediately know how many.

A Metra spokesman says the derailment has halted commuter rail service on several lines, including routes from Chicago to Aurora, Manhattan and Joliet.

Crews are working to clear the train.
