A 7-year-old foster child who was abducted on his way to school in southern California has been found safe in Las Vegas.
Eduardo Rivera was located at a home in Vegas at about 6 a.m. Saturday and was taken into protective custody, according to a police statement.
Eduardo was waiting for his school bus in Riverside on Friday when two Hispanic men snatched him, put him into a car waiting nearby and drove off, Riverside police Lt. Brian Baitx told MyFOXLA.com.
Officers later located the abandoned vehicle after witnesses to the kidnapping called in a description.
"Police ... learned that the victim and suspects transferred to a second vehicle ... identified as a newer Cadillac Escalade with possible out-of- state plates," Baitx told the station.
A third man was at the wheel of the getaway car. No description was released of any of the three suspects.
An all-points bulletin was put out on the Escalade, MyFOXLA.com reported.
Eduardo is a foster child whose parents are in jail, Baitx said. After his abduction, authorities questioned them but there was no word on a motive for the kidnapping.
