Authorities were called to a woman's house along Florida's western coast to rescue her potbellied pig.

Cynthia Taylor's Vietnamese potbellied pig, Dudley, had gone up a flight of stairs in her home and couldn't be brought back down Monday morning.

Taylor says the pig had climbed the stairs trying to find a hidden bag of pig food that was left in the open by workers.

Firefighter Brad Westphal was able to grab the swine by its belly and carry it down the stairs.

"I've done cats in trees, and dogs and ferrets and snakes," Westphal said. "Never a pig."
