VIENNA, Va. – Police say three people have been found dead in a Vienna home near the Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts.
Detectives believe 81-year-old Thomas K. Appleberry shot his 81-year-old wife, Rachel Appleberry, and his 53-year-old son Thomas K. Appleberry Jr., and then shot himself.
Police say they had gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Officer Don Gotthardt says preliminary evidence indicates there was a domestic conflict in the home.
Gotthardt says Fairfax County police were called to the 9600 block of Cinnamon Creek Drive about 9:20 a.m. Investigators believe a family member discovered the bodies and called police.
