Police: Man Attacked Shipmate With Ax on Boat

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – A crew member on a Honduran ship docked in Fort Pierce has been charged with attacking a crew mate with an ax.

Walter R. Bodden is charged with aggravated battery after the weekend attack aboard the Southern Relentless, Fort Pierce (Fla.) police said.

Bodden and the victim got into a fight, police said. Bodden allegedly grabbed the ax and hit the man in the head with its flat side before others wrestled it away. The victim was bleeding from the head and had two black eyes, but declined medical attention.
